In light of the recent hipster food court trends that is taking us by the storm, we can’t help but jump on the bandwagon and check out some of the themed food courts that have recently opened.
A few months ago, FOMO opened its door to us for a free media tasting, and you can read all about what we have to say here. This time though, we happened to be in Wisma Atria, and simply could not walk past the alluring interior of Picnic. Down the rabbit hole we go….
The first thing that strikes most people as they make their entrance to Picnic is the nature-themed layout. This place is every nature-lover’s nirvana. Sink your feet into soft, fake grass as you bask in the lighting designed to soothe your mood.
2. Great for Catching Up
The soothing environment, coupled with the lush spaciousness of the area makes it a great place for one to catch up with friends. Choose from seating areas in the Flower Garden, Picnic Central Garden, and Beer Garden. The tables are designed to accommodate a larger crowd, but more private seating options are available too.
3. Games and Entertainment
Is there anything that the organisers behind Picnic did not think of?! Other than a great sitting plan for large groups, there are even games for friends to play against each other. Loving the foosball table and the old-school arcade machine!
4. International Food Choices
We all have that one friend who just can’t decide what to eat. (Glares pointedly to the left) Not a problem here at Picnic! With over 7 International food stalls, there is something for everyone at the table. Some of these stalls include: Omakase Burger, Le Coq Roti, Rosti Haus, Daebak, Taiwan Treasures, Ezo Hokkaido Eats, and more.
5. Quality Food
I had a burger from Omakase Burger, featuring USDA choice beef, American cheese, topped with fluffy, artisanal buns. I really loved how the beef patty was juicy and flavourful, yet not too overly greasy. This is one happy meal I wanna have every day!
If your #ThatOneAsainFriend can’t go without his noodles (glares pointedly to the left again), then why not give the pork noodles at the Taiwanese Treasures a go! They serve a mean bowl of noodles! The noodles are Taiwan imported, and are silky smooth, while the broth is rich and flavourful.
For dessert, we had the apple pie. These pies are made fresh daily from the owner’s mum who learnt her recipe from the United States. It is no wonder why I can’t pry my hands off these pies! From the first bite, the homely taste of apples seasoned with a pinch of cinnamon hits you. This taste is well-complemented with the warm, buttery crust that falls apart easily.
Not convinced that Picnic is the place to go yet? Make a reservation here and see it for yourself!
