My lunch experience at Bochinche is one that is truly worthy of this week’s Weekly Glutton. I wouldn’t mind a 2nd round tomorrow even!
With a $32++ lunch price tag, Bochinche is the perfect location for business lunches to impress your clients. Their lunch crowd consisted of purely office executives anyways.
Real home-like decor
From the get go, you’re hit with a really warm and cosy feeling as soon as you take a step inside. Art prints adorned on the walls, an open kitchen concept where you get to watch the chefs at work and just one or two empty tables left for walk ins. (Whew lucky me)
For the set lunch, you can either choose the 2 course meal ($27++) or the 3 course meal ($32++). I ordered the 3 course meal as I was feeling pretty famished. From what I know, the rib eye steak is a constant in the menu. The rest of the items vary from time to time.
Beef Carpaccio, papaya, olives, capers and parmesan
Carpaccio’s are meant to be raw but the Chefs at Bochinche obviously know what they’re doing by searing the edges of the beef ever so lightly. The olives and cheese gives off a very bold aftertaste but it works well with the mellow notes of the papaya. Even with the full flavoured beef, everything blends well together. A true rebel of a dish indeed.
180g Rib Eye steak, chips (wedges) & chimichurri mayo
My first impression – What? 180g only? I’ll never be full! Which turned out to be true. But let’s talk flavors first. I ordered medium rare but you can have it any way you like (except well done).
My friend ordered the seabass. My advice? Argentinian cooking revolves around savoury, meaty dishes and the fish didn’t seem like a popular choice among diners. There must be a reason why the steak is a constant in the menu yeah?
Chocolate pudding, salted caramel and berries
Dessert was the reason why I managed to feel full at the end of the meal. They give you just enough pudding so you don’t feel so lethargic or walk away from the table feeling you still need something else.

Do remember to book a table in advance or prepare to be using your phone mindlessly while waiting for a table to be vacant.
