A First Look At The New Rock ‘N Bowl Menu @ Hard Rock Cafe

Hard Rock Singapore

Beginning Monday, January 10 through Thursday, March 13, Hard Rock Singapore is ushering in the year of the dog with a creative line up of new “Rock ‘N Bowl” menu items. To be honest, it’s been years since I last went to Hard Rock Cafe. The sole fact that they’re still around in Singapore warrants bragging rights for sure!

The Food

The Rock Bowls promise to take diners who want to expand their palate on a rockingly satisfying journey. Remember to pair them bowls with any of the three cocktails (listed below) that were specifically concocted to complement the Rock Bowls. No I’m not an alcoholic.

Brown rice bowl cooked with a blend of Cajun and Southwest seasonings, topped with hot chorizo meatballs, honey sriracha glaze, chili lime crema, grated cotija cheese and crispy, seasoned tortilla straws

Southwest Meatball Bowl, $27.95

Let’s start with the heaviest dish first. I say heavy because it’s packed full of flavor. I loved the tortilla straws, it gave this dish a nice crispy textured bite. The beef meatballs were cooked well too but could have been a little tenderer. However, what did not work for me was the honey glaze. I’m not really a fan of having sweet elements in my savory dish.

hard rock jambalaya

Brown rice bowl seasoned with Cajun seasoning, served with authentic Jambalaya and sprinkled green onions

Jambalaya Bowl, $26.95

This was my personal favorite because of the generous amounts of Chorizo in it. The Chorizo gives this dish an added spice which is USUALLY always welcomed by a Singaporean palate. Let’s not forget about the salty juices from the Chorizo that marinates the brown rice. Doesn’t sound that healthy at the end but so WORTH IT!

hard rock shrimp noodle bowl

Rice noodle bowl served with grilled shrimp in an Asian BBQ sauce mixed with shredded cabbage, sesame soy glaze, sliced green onions, white sesame seeds, freshly squeezed lime juice and fried won tons

BBQ Shrimp Noodle Bowl, $29.95

I’m told this is a favorite with the ladies. It’s light, refreshing, tasty and really easy to go down. It’s all about a play on textures with this noodle bowl. You have your springy rice noodles, firm and fresh shrimp flesh and your crispy won tons. The lime juice gives every single bite a tangy and refreshing aftertaste. You definitely won’t get “jelat” with this one.

Is The Juice Worth The Squeeze?

I particularly liked the Shrimp Noodle Bowl and the Jambalaya Bowl. They are pretty big portions so the price is justified. You’ll definitely not leave the place without feeling like your belly is about to explode. To elevate your dining experience even further, pair them bowls with any of the three cocktails (mentioned above).
